Hummingbird in flight

If you are looking for hummingbird spots, a very nice area is Mindo in Ecuador. Located at 1,000m above sea level, you will see many different species there.

This photograph was created by Steven with the Canon 300mm f/4 L IS lens, the Canon EOS 7D, the Speedlite flash 430EX with Better Beamer, mounted on a  Jobu Design Gimbal head, over the Manfrotto 190CX carbon fiber tripod. Have a look at the equipment we typically carry with us.

From an image processing standpoint, I used the clone and patch tools in Photoshop to eliminate the feeder that was on the bottom right. I also applied a couple of filters from the Color Efex Pro 4 plug-in of Nik Softwares. Follow our link to enjoy a 15% discount on the latter! 🙂
